ZTE FIT 4. G Smart - General Discussion. O. P. With the ZTE FIT 4. G Smart available on the market and details being scarse, thought it was time to start a general discussion thread. This Chinese smart phone by ZTE was released sometime in March 2. Australia, and is still yet to be released in some parts of the world. I have orgin so i clicked on that and click the sims 4 made mods folder and extracted it into that so i have mod and screen shot and some internet thing. Defining feature. Though the screen protector for the ZTE Warp N8. O. P. The phone is currently available (in what seems limited stock) at Target, Optus (prepaid) and Coles for $9. Which considering it boasts Quad Core, 8. Gb storage and 4. G (including LTE 7. MHZ) and 5. Mhz makes it a good buy. The phone appears to work with Optus reseller sims as well. The Optus firmware allows for denying apps unnecessary permissions usually only available on rooted phones. The GPS isn't very good. Bluetooth tether works. The Y5. 50 doesn't have bluetooth tether. The screen is hard to read in direct sunlight. Multitasks way better than the Moto GUSB charging socket on the side instead of the usual spot at the base of the phone. Looks like direct competition to the Huawei Y5. GB storage it looks like a great deal. I believe it has the quad- core 1. GHz Media. Tek MT6. CPU.. not sure how that stacks up against the quad core 1. GHZ Snapdragon 4. Y5. 50 though? Thinking of getting the ZTE as a second phone. But give it time, I'm sure it will be done eventually. Because of the rapid change in technology – I believe it is better to buy a good value low to mid range phone and upgrade more often than buy one of the high end ! I also didn't realise just how fast 4. G is! The downside, the screen colours aren't as deep as the SII. It's like the contrast is a little too high and the blacks are slightly grey. No fudging with the backlight can fix it. Size wize it's practically the same but the rounded back fits much more snuggly in the hand. Whilst the screen is a little disappointing, I've yet to find anything else which is, and for the price – it's something I can live with. It's nice to have a phone that is responsive! Constant low memory warnings, some apps can be moved but a lot aren't budging.. So if you like a lot of apps, unless there's a solution, forget it. GB internal and 6. GB external. Why why why... Tried a telstra sim, asks for unlock code. I made a thread on this phone the other day about the storage issues I'm having, seems there's 2 partitions on the phone, a 2. GB and a 6. GB. Oh that's a real shame – completely pointless. Otherwise this phone would have been a winner. Oh that's a real shame – completely pointless. Otherwise this phone would have been a winner. I asked why on the ZTE Australia page and they say they're looking into it. Little tip for this phone if you're listening to music. Be sure to turn off, under Audio Profiles, . I've found, in my listening, these actually make it worse than make it better. Bes. Aud. Enh does make some sound slightly better, up to your preference, but definitely make sure the other one is switched off. O. P. Had to shudder on the weekend. Wife got a message saying something like 'the battery is too hot, please remove immediately to prevent damage.' She had been using it pretty heavily the put it in her pocket. Hopefully an isolated case. Hopefully an isolated case. I've had that too, just once, when I first got it. Was downloading apps on Wi- Fi, charging my phone and playing games and texting all at the same time. Lol think we just have to warm them up because I've done the same since and no problem. The downside, the screen colours aren't as deep as the SII. It's like the contrast is a little too high and the blacks are slightly grey. No fudging with the backlight can fix it. Just on this, I don't know if you noticed under . I've made the screen on mine a lot better than it was stock. P. S. Still no word from ZTE on the storage issue. I recently purchased this phone as a cheap replacement while my iphone is out of action. I've only had it a week and already the touch screen seems to have a mind of its own. It randomly opens apps and presses links on screen. I will be taking it back to optus as soon as my iphone is repaired. I was hoping to use it as my primary phone but if this issue is recurring i guess not. Just letting you guys know my experience with the phone so far. P. S. Still no word from ZTE on the storage issue. Takes some time to go through all our internal processes. Still for me the inclusion of 7. G on the ZTE is well worth the $9. Also, nice to see a rep from ZTE here, here's hoping there will be a fix soon! Other than that this phone is great.. Have started experiencing this with mine over the last few days, wondering whether it's a software problem which could be easily fixed or a more serious hardware problem... Comtemplating taking mine back to Target while it's still under the 2. Such a shame because this phone had potential. I've only had it a week and already the touch screen seems to have a mind of its own. My mum has bought one and 'bagman' on Oz. B was able to unlock. Her biggest gripe so far is the difficulty in finding a decent case. O. P. Just a follow up regarding the storage partitioning, I suspect that it won't be fixed any time soon. Queried ZTEAustralia's facebook page (they posted about the ZTE Blade S6 AU edition having a flat partition scheme) and got to following back: Me? At preset the 2. GB internal / 4. Gb secondary is very restrictive. But it will take awhile for us to work out the solution for a end user to do this themselves. Repartitioning is the same as if you were doing your PC – total erase and reflash – not simple and end users PC's are way too variable and hard to trust (ie. April 1. 2 at 5: 5. Hi,Correct – its not easy. It's easily the snappiest phone I've used in a long time. Battery life is good (2 sometimes 3 days with my usage) and reception seems to be great (haven't used 4g though)Still, I can't recommend it though, as it's far to easy to run out of space. I've only got a few apps on and I've found I have to delete stuff to get apps to update. To make matters worse there are too many preinstalled apps, that are completely unremovable. If an update comes out with one partition, that will change the game and make this an awesome buy, but from past experience, I'm not holding my breath. O. P. rockofclay writes.. I'm not holding my breath. Sadly I think your right. Especially since the new ZTE phone is due out soon with a flat partition layout.. Why knock out market for that. Still it would be nice if they did fix. Yeah I ended up taking mine back to Target.. No way to live on a smartphone. Even the Huawei Y5. GB storage has more usable space because of flat partitioning. I went with it.. because it was cheap and well, if I upgrade again sometime in the future I haven't lost much for $4. Though happy days if you get a fix. Go to Apps > Downloaded. Click on each App you have downloaded then select Move to Phone Storage. If this is allowed by the App you can move to the Phone Storage partition which will free up space in the Internal Storage partition. In my experience, all of the apps I have downloaded allow this to work, and you can utilise the larger Phone Storage partition to run the app from. If the shortcut is gone after a reboot, just replace the app shortcut on the home screen. Go to Apps > Downloaded. Click on each App you have downloaded then select Move to Phone Storage. I would be interested in knowing if that approach works for you guys in the short term while we continue working on what we are doing.. Regards,D. I'd done all this when I had it, the problem for me and some others also was the Google apps and their updates just continue to eat away at the small amount of storage you have anyway on the Internal. Most of those can't be moved and other apps like Snapchat, Facebook also. It's definitely a temporary fix yes, albeit one that should've been avoided, again hopefully will be fixed for those who waitroger roger writes.. Go to Apps > Downloaded. I would be interested in knowing if that approach works for you guys in the short term while we continue working on what we are doing.. The internal partition is simply not big enough. With facebook not relocatable there's up to 1. Mb gone already, the google app updates chew up about 1. M each, with there being over 7 updates, thats a lot of space gone – all non relocatable. I ran out of room in the first day just adding on the apps I actually used on my old phone. The only way I was able to put the same apps on was to not put the google updates on. Even still I'm now left at a point to install any update to a current app I have to clear all caches. Certainly not an ideal situation. I'd be more than happy to reinstall everything though if the partition was flat and I knew it wouldn't be a problem again in the future. Hi,As I thought too. I would expect that the team at ZTE will fix this issue promptly as we are end users not tech heads. If the techos at ZTE are unable or unwilling to rectify this issue (promptly) please have the common courtesy to inform me of you decision as I am more than happy to return the device to zte and purchase a more functional device. This is not posted to be rude but I am less than underwhelmed.
